Seismic vulnerability assessment of reinforced concrete buildings having nonlinear fluid viscous dampers

چکیده

Seismic resilience is the residual capacity of a damaged system for recovering and sustaining an acceptable level performance as consequence seismic event. Firstly, this paper summarizes current calculation framework using fragility analyses. After that, new metric based on vulnerability analyses developed to calculate resilience. Finally, typical hospital building adopted single then retrofitted with supplemental Energy Dissipation Systems (EDS) show applicability compare it model The considered EDS Nonlinear Fluid Viscous Damper (NFVD) located diagonal damper-brace system. EDSs enhance structural by reducing induced lateral displacements result physical damages losses. To end, Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) implemented achieve damage curves. A comparison fragility, vulnerability, functionality curves indicates that NFVDs are potentially useful attenuating non-structural components.
