Seismic Response Study of L-Shaped Frame Structure with Magnetorheological Dampers

To analyze the multi-dimensional seismic mitigation performance and torsional vibration characteristic of an L-shaped frame structure with a magnetorheological damper (MRD). Firstly, mechanical property MRD is experimentally studied. Then, calculation models without MRDs are found through theoretical analysis, programs compiled. Finally, time history responses calculated during excitation bi-directional wave; displacement, acceleration, story drift ratio, shear force bending moment then compared analyzed. The results show that by adjusting current, damping provided can be adjusted continuously in range 3.1 to 120 kN. compiled model effectively simulate response structure. Reasonable arrangement MR dampers reduce force, moment, vibration, structures.
