چکیده

Steel plate shear walls (SPSWs) are a robust lateral load resistance structure because of their high ductility and efficient energy dissipation when subjected to seismic loads. This research investigates the performance an innovative infill web strip (IWS-SPSW) typical unstiffened steel wall (USPSW). As result, two 1:3 scale specimens IWS-SPSW USPSW with single story bay were built cyclic loading methodology. In prototype, semi-rigid end-plate connectors for beam-to-column connections utilized. The test result showed outstanding load-bearing capacity without cracks or damage. Additionally, exhibited strong substantial beam-column connection distortion. excellent capacity, low ductility, extensive corner tearing, large cracks. FE models developed verified against experimental data. It has been shown that strips can affect overall SPSW system. addition, parametric study was conducted investigate material properties, such as strength thickness, significantly enhance system’s performances.

investigation on nonlinear dynamic behavior of thin steel plate shear walls with rigid beam to column connections under far and near fault earthquakes

considering recent developments in earthquake engineering, researchers has detected different effects of earthquakes far and near from the fault. investigations that have been done in this area show that near fault earthquakes have shorter time period comparing far fault earthquakes and in the velocity of near fault earthquakes, there are one or more impacting pulses with a big domain and perio...

Seismic Performance of Steel Plate-Reinforced Concrete Composite Shear Wall

In tall buildings the reinforced concrete (RC) shear wall is one of the predominant structural components used to resist lateral loads induced by earthquakes around the world. Previous research demonstrated that shear walls displayed a sudden loss in lateral capacity due to the wall corner and web crushing in the plastic zone. In addition, it was found that large shear distortions in shear wall...

Nonlinear inelastic dynamic analysis of space steel frames with semi-rigid connections in urban buildings

Applied studies addressing semi-rigid connections have been limited. Scant information exists in regulations except little brief information. Therefore, this research analyzes the behavior of three-dimensional steel frames and semi-rigid connections based on beam-column method and non-linear dynamic analysis. Stability functions and geometric stiffness matrix were used to study the non-linear g...

Static and dynamic nonlinear analysis of steel frame with semi-rigid connections

One of the important issues in the study of steel frames is to find a suitable formulation for semi-rigid connections. In this paper, the explicit stiffness matrix for a two-dimensional beam-column element having end-flexibilities is derived. The effects of the lateral uniformly distributed load on the deflection are considered. Both tensile and compressive axial loads are also taken into accou...
