چکیده
Taking into consideration the seismic vulnerability and poor energy performance of European building stock, increasing socio-economic environmental need for integrating upgrading with efficiency improvement, an experimental study involving lateral load testing full-scale one-story one-bay masonry infilled RC frames load-bearing walls was carried out in framework SupERB research project aiming to investigate integrated systems. The approach is based on use textile reinforced mortar (TRM) overlays combined either traditional thermal insulation (extruded polystyrene, XPS) or thermally efficient incorporating phase change material (PCMs). proposed can be applied exterior face structure, so as facilitate its application real structures easiest possible way minimum disturbance inhabitants buildings. In this paper, only structural masonry-infilled retrofitted presented, while benefits will presented a separate paper. Thus, assessed through five that were different schemes TRM materials subjected in-plane displacement-controlled cyclic loading. following parameters investigated experimentally: number (one two layers insulation), PCM-enhanced layer contrast conventional XPS insulation, retrofitting configurations (placement sandwich form over and/or under novel insulation). From results obtained study, it concluded all systems examined have positive impact response system loading, ones having better compared one them than control specimen. cancels drawback frames, which at very small drifts they reach their maximum capacity after rapidly fall bare frame, providing capacities above 80% peak up 2%. tests whether included PCMs contributed distribution cracks infill delayed premature brittle failures. presence had also advantage remained intact throughout preventing debris plane both unretrofitted sides.

Full and Perforated Metal Plate Shear Walls as Bracing Systems for Seismic Upgrading of Existing Rc Buildings
Metal Plate Shear Walls (MPSWs) represent an effective, practical and economical system for the seismic protection of existing RC framed buildings. They consist of one or more metallic thin plates, bolted or welded to a stiff steel frame, which are installed in the bays of RC framed structures. A case study of an existing RC residential 5-storey building, designed between the ‘60s and ‘70s of t...
متن کاملSeismic Performance of RC Frames Irregular in Elevation Designed Based on Iranian Seismic Code
Setback in elevation of a structure is a special irregularity with considerable effect on its seismic performance. This paper addresses multistory Reinforced Concrete (RC) frame buildings, regular and irregular in elevation. Several multistory Reinforced Concrete Moment Resisting Frames (RCMRFs) with different types of setbacks, as well as the regular frames in elevation, are designed according...

With rapid population growth over the past 30 years and no significance seismic activity during this period, the unchecked development of the built environment in Bangladesh has been resulted in little resilience to earthquake. Identifying buildings due to this unchecked development that has high vulnerability is of critical importance both for reliable loss estimation as a result of an expecte...
متن کاملDamage-Based Probabilistic Seismic Assessment of RC Frames
A conceptual framework for the probabilistic performance-based seismic assessment of building structures that considers both model uncertainty and response sensitivity to ground motion modification is presented in this paper. A new damage model is proposed for the assessment of building performance to seismic loads. The model is derived at the material level and combined at the element, story a...
