چکیده
What does it take to see how autistic people participate in social interactions? And what support and invite more participation? Western medicine cognitive science tend think of autism mainly terms communicative deficits. But research shows that can interact with a skill sophistication are hard when starting from deficit idea. Research also not only people, but their non-autistic interaction partners, have difficulties interacting each other. To do justice these findings, we need different approach interactions—one helps everyone see, invite, better participation. I introduce such an approach, based on the enactive theory participatory sense-making supported by insights indigenous epistemologies. This counteract homogenizing tendencies “global mental health” movement, which attempts erase rather than recognize difference, often precludes respectful engagements. Based lived experiences socio-cultural-material interactive contexts, put forward engaged—even engag ing—epistemology for understanding across difference. From this perspective, at work scientific, diagnostic, therapeutic, everyday interactions it.

متن کاملInviting affordances and agency
Recently several authors have suggested that affordances are not mere possibilities for action but can also invite behavior. This reconceptualization of affordances asks for a reconsideration of the ecological approach to agency. After a portrayal of the role of agency in ecological psychology, we draw upon phenomenology to reveal what it means for an agent to be invited by affordances. We sket...

This paper explores these tensions using sociological theories regarding the socio-cultural and subjective nature of pain. Analysis derives from in-depth, l...
متن کاملSeeing and believing: recent advances in imaging cell-cell interactions
Advances in cell and developmental biology have often been closely linked to advances in our ability to visualize structure and function at many length and time scales. In this review, we discuss how new imaging technologies and new reagents have provided novel insights into the biology of cadherin-based cell-cell junctions. We focus on three developments: the application of super-resolution op...
