Secure and Efficient Communication in VANETs Using Level-Based Access Control

In recent years, the development of vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) has received much attention in intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Unlike traditional networks, VANETs are emerging with unique characteristics that share similar technology autonomous vehicles (AVs) and automated driving (ASDs). Communication between surrounding infrastructure unit, such as a roadside unit (RSU), must be secured, concise, authentic. Hence, an access control system for environment is required. We introduced level-based controlled signcryption (LBS) scheme, which can easily constructed implemented into environment. Our encrypted message short constant size, better when compared other attribute-based or encryption. Confidentiality, privacy, authenticity also provided our scheme to ensure secure authentic communication. Therefore, addressed communication cost, scalability, security, privacy issues VANETs.
