Second harmonic injection locking of coupled spin torque vortex oscillators with an individual phase access

Abstract The synchronisation of magnetic tunnel junctions in the high frequency domain has attracted significant interest context novel computation paradigms, specifically neuromorphic spintronics and probabilistic computing. In this work, a design for coupling synchronization spin torque vortex oscillators (STVOs) is implemented. geometry comprises fabrication adjacent pairs STVO nanopillars (MgO-based junctions), with an edge-to-edge distance down to 100 nm, together individual top contacts that allow independent electrical access each device. geometry, magneto-dipolar promotes two oscillators, at same time as phase oscillator possible. Both measurements confirm successful synchronization, being controlled by relative DC bias oscillator. As proof-of-concept towards oscillator-based Ising machine, it also shown second harmonic injection locking can be tuning its correspondent pair. These results represent step forward implementation coupled junctions, field unconventional computing hardware.
