چکیده
Particulate matter (PM) concentrations and aerosol optical depth (AOD) are measured correlated simultaneously using a high-volume sampler MICROTOPS-II Sunphotometer, respectively. The present work deals with the characteristics of particulate (PM 1 , PM 2.5 10 ) over Varanasi, from April 2019 to March 2020. Daily variation, as well seasonal reveals dominancy fine-mode particles Varanasi region in winter season coarse-mode summer season, which was further confirmed by calculating ratio between /PM ). This discovered be lowest highest winter. Annual mean found 93.91, 111.34, 180.70 ?gm ?3 variation shows relatively higher concentration may due stable meteorological conditions increased biomass burning Diurnal variations AOD were also studied during this period. A large small value represents fine coarse particles. At 500 nm, maximum (1.17) minimum (0.44) AODs December August 2019, There statistically significant correlation AOD. Elemental analysis that fluorine carbon major elements observed selected samples post-monsoon SEM-EDX analysis.

seasonal and temporal variations in physico-chemical and bacteriological characteristics of river ganga in varanasi
various physico chemical characteristics of the river ganga in varanasi were studied in the oct 2005 to nov 2006. ecological parameters like dissolved oxygen(do), ph, nitrate(no3-), po43- and bacterial population were analyzed and compared with standard permissible limits to assess the best designated use of the river water for various purposes. study revealed that the water quality at varanasi...
متن کاملMass and chemical composition of size-segregated aerosols (PM1, PM2.5, PM10) over Athens, Greece: local versus regional sources
To identify the relative contribution of local versus regional sources of particulate matter (PM) in the Greater Athens Area (GAA), simultaneous 24-h mass and chemical composition measurements of size segregated particulate matter (PM1, PM2.5 and PM10) were carried out from September 2005 to August 2006 at three locations: one urban (Goudi, Central Athens, “GOU”), one suburban (Lykovrissi, Athe...
متن کاملThe Concentrations and Reduction of Airborne Particulate Matter (PM10, PM2.5, PM1) at Shelterbelt Site in Beijing
Particulate matter is a serious source of air pollution in urban areas, where it exerts adverse effects on human health. This article focuses on the study of subduction of shelterbelts for atmospheric particulates. The results suggest that (1) the PM mass concentration is higher in the morning or both morning and noon inside the shelterbelts and lower mass concentrations at other times; (2) the...
متن کاملCharacteristics and seasonal variations of PM2.5, PM10, and TSP aerosol in Beijing.
OBJECTIVE To investigate the seasonal characteristics and the sources of elements and ions with different sizes in the aerosols in Beijing. METHODS Samples of particulate matters (PM2.5), PM10, and total suspended particle (TSP) aerosols were collected simultaneously in Beijing from July 2001 to April 2003. The aerosol was chemically characterized by measuring 23 elements and 18 water-soluble...
متن کاملSpatial and temporal variations of the concentrations of PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 in China
Concentrations of PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 were monitored at 24 CAWNET (China Atmosphere Watch Network) stations from 2006 to 2014. The highest particulate matter (PM) concentrations were observed at the stations of Xian, Zhengzhou and Gucheng, on the Guanzhong Plain and the Huabei Plain (HBP). The second highest PM concentrations were observed in northeast China, followed by southern China. Accordi...
