Searching for muonphilic dark sectors with proton beams

چکیده
Proton beam-dump experiments are a high-intensity source of secondary muons and provide an opportunity to probe muon-specific dark sectors. We adopt simplified-models framework for exotic light scalar particle coupling predominantly or exclusively muons. Equipped with state-of-the-art muon simulations, we compute the sensitivity reach in parameter space $({m}_{S},{g}_{\ensuremath{\mu}})$ mediator, examining detail examples experiment NA62 mode proposed SHiP. find significant yield such exotics sub-GeV mass range. Our projections competitive those primary muon-beam complementary current constraints, spanning uncharted accessing new physics potentially responsible $(g\ensuremath{-}2{)}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}$ anomaly.

Searching for Dark Matter
The observational evidence for dark matter on progressively larger cosmic scales is reviewed in a rather pedagogical fashion. Although the emphasis is on dark matter in galaxies and in clusters of galaxies, its cosmological evidence as well as its physical nature are also discussed.
متن کاملSearching for Dark Photons
Researchers have studied electron-positron (e+e-) collisions for interactions that produce a normal photon γ and a dark photon A′ that interacts with ordinary matter particles. The dark photon can potentially decay into an e+epair (shown here) or a μ+μpair (not shown). However, the latest results from the BaBar collaboration offer no sign of dark photons, thus placing new limits on these types ...
متن کاملSearching for dark matter with helium atom
With the help of the boost operator we can model the interaction between a weakly interacting particle(WIMP) of dark matter(DAMA) and an atomic nuclei. Via this “kick” we calculate the total electronic excitation cross section of the helium atom. The bound spectrum of He is calculated through a diagonalization process with a configuration interaction (CI) wavefunction built up from Slater orbit...
متن کاملSearching For Dark Matter with Neutrino Telescopes
One of the most interesting mysteries of astrophysics is the puzzle of dark matter. Although numerous techniques have been explored and developed to detect this elusive substance, its nature remains unknown. One such method uses large high-energy neutrino telescopes to look for the annihilation products of dark matter annihilations. In this summary article, we briefly review this technique. We ...

(0.8 mg of DT at 400 g/cm) has been derived from the energy balance of an hypothetical power plant [2]. Secondly, self-consistent 2D radiation hydrodynamic simulations with MULTI [3, 4] allows us to define and optimize a HIB-driven hohlraum target, as well as to determine the minimum PB energy ( 33 kJ) needed to ignite the asymmetrically compressed fuel. Thermonuclear ignition and burn is now i...
