Search for Medical Information and Treatment Options for Musculoskeletal Disorders through an Artificial Intelligence Chatbot: Focusing on Shoulder Impingement Syndrome

Background The ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot that processes natural language text learned through reinforcement learning based on the GPT-3.5 architecture, a large-scale model. Natural processing models are being used in various fields and gradually expanding their use medical field. Purpose This study aimed to investigate information treatment options can provide for shoulder impingement syndrome (SIS). Study design Descriptive Methods Using ChatGPT, which provided as free beta test, messages related SIS were entered, responses received analyzed. Results not only answers definition, prevalence, risk factors of SIS, but also symptoms, diseases with similar orthopedic tests according input. Additionally, list exercises provided. Conclusions will be able overall useful patients unfamiliar SIS. However, caution required it contains content may biased or inappropriate Nevertheless, if technology develops further, expected express more detailed options.
