Sealing Treatment of Plasma-Sprayed Cr3C2-NiCr/Al2O3-TiO2 Coating by Aluminum Phosphate Sealant Containing Al2O3 Nanoparticles

A typical structure of thermal spray coatings consisted molten particles, semi-molten oxides, pores, and cracks. These factors caused the porosity sprayed coatings, leading to a significant influence on coating properties, especially their wear-corrosion resistance. In this study, post-spray sealing treatment Cr3C2-NiCr/Al2O3-TiO2 plasma-sprayed was carried out, then, corrosion properties were evaluated, before after treatment. For process, aluminum phosphate (APP) containing Al2O3 nanoparticles (~10 nm) used. The permeability APP into analyzed by SEM-EDS. efficiency for resistance evaluated electrochemical measurements, such as potentiodynamic polarization impedance spectroscopy. examined in 3.5 wt.% NaCl circulation solution 0.25% SiO2 particles. percentage treated open pores coating. obtained results showed that penetrated deeply through incorporation sealant improved 20% comparison with without nano-Al2O3. effect post-treatment protection has been discussed.
