Seabed Observations at the New England Mud Patch: Reflection and Scattering Measurements and Direct Geoacoustic Information
نویسندگان
چکیده
Seabed reflection and scattering measurements were conducted at the New England Mud Patch to better understand acoustic properties of fine-grained (muddy) sediments. The measurement philosophy themselves are summarized. In addition, geoacoustic information accessed directly from data in time frequency domains is presented. main result existence an angle intromission. This observation proves that mud sound speed less than water yields a sediment ratio 0.9865 with outer bounds {0.985 0.989}. Another strong scattered arrivals within volume at/near normal incidence but not low grazing angles. These likely due anisotropic heterogeneities large horizontal vertical scale. Evidence also presented for highly heterogeneous mud–sand horizon lateral variability down scales order meters. Finally, successfully capture Bragg interference patterns. Their importance their substantial content, which can be by several inversion methods.

The approach includes both theoretical and measurement components. One measurement approach exploits the very high geoacoustic information content in direct path measurements of seabed reflection and scattering. Another measurement approach, based on long-range reverberation, has much less information content but is nonetheless a powerful way to explore scales inherent in the seabed. Both kinds...

متن کامل11: Seabed Geoacoustic Structure at the Meso-Scale
The observational approach is based on direct path measurements of seabed reflection and scattering. The key advantages of this approach are: 1) high resolution vertically, 0.1m and laterally: inner scale of ~10m and outer scale of 100 km; 2) it substantially reduces uncertainties from the space/timevarying oceanography and biology due to short path lengths; 3) it requires a low source level, 4...

1.0 overview it seems that grammar plays a crucial role in the area of second and foreign language learning and widely has been acknowledged in grammar research. in other words, teaching grammar is an issue which has attracted much attention to itself, and a lot of teachers argue about the existence of grammar in language teaching and learning. this issue will remind us a famous sentence f...
