چکیده
Mosquitoes contribute to main disease burden in India as they are causative agent of many vector-borne diseases. Various methods now being used control the vectors that might help stop spread. In this regard, current study was carried out analyze phytochemicals, ovicidal and repellent activities acetone, chloroform ethanol extracts Sphaeranthus indicus leaves Caesalpinia pulcherrima against vector Culex quinquefasciatus. The potency investigated at different concentrations ranging from 50 ppm 300 under standard laboratory environment. activity tested 1.0 mg/cm2, 2.5 mg/cm2 5.0 mg/cm2. test find phytochemicals present extract done following methods. According results, among three for their potency, leaf showed excellent mosquito Therefore, further subjected phytochemical screening. results screening presence alkaloids, phenols, sterols, terpenoids, flavonoids, tannins, phytosterols.

Bioactive compounds contained in the seed kernel and other parts of the neem tree (Azadirachta indica A. Juss) have been found to show insecticidal activities and other effects in many species of insects. These activities include antifeedancy, growth regulation, fecundity suppression, male sterility, oviposition repellency, changes in biological fitness such as loss of flying ability, immunodep...

Background: The expansion of herbicide used in aquatic ecosystems as well as in terrestrial if is not properly controlled may produce harmful effects on freshwater fisheries. Residue limits of these agricultural chemicals in tropical fishery waters should be established. The aim of this study was to determine the acute toxicity of butachlor and pertilachlor as potential dangerous herbicides to ...

Mosquito-borne diseases with an economic impact create loss in commercial and labor outputs, particularly in countries with tropical and subtropical climates. Mosquito control is facing a threat because of the emergence of resistance to synthetic insecticides. Extracts from plants may be alternative sources of mosquito control agents because they constitute a rich source of bioactive compounds ...

The mosquitoes are a serious threat to public health, since they are known vector of many life-threatening diseases like malaria, filariasis, Japanese encephalitis, chikungunya and dengue fever, which are transmitted by the species of three mosquito genera: Anopheles, Culex and Aedes. Repellency is an important way of preventing vector-borne diseases by reducing man-vector contact. Most commerc...
