Screening of NCLB Disease and QTLs Mapping in Zea mays

چکیده
Northern Corn Leaf Blight (NCLB) is a foliar disease, caused by fungal pathogen (Setosphaeria turcica) that damages maize crop due to heavy losses in every year. A study was conducted for NCLB and identified quantitative trait loci (QTLs) maize. Mapping population F2:3 families developed involving two inbreds viz CM 212 (susceptible) & 145 (resistant). The mapping evaluated environments (BHU, Varanasi Nagenahalli, Mandya) resistance NCLB. In the polymorphic survey about 360 pairs of simple sequence repeat (SSR) primer used between parents (CM 145)and 54 markers. Data recorded disease severity traits Percent Disease Index (PDI), Area Under Progress Curve (AUDPC) based on PDI, Lesion Area, AUDPC lesion area QTL Mapping. The QTLs were interestingly, 4th chromosome viz: 4.03/4.05, 4.08/4.1, 4/4.07 4.08/4.1 from observed both environments. initially (QTL-1 QTL-2) detected with other (QTL 3 4) PDI.

Detection of QTLs controlling fast kernel dehydration in maize (Zea mays L.).
In order to understand the effect of grain moisture of inbred lines at the silking and physiological maturity stages on kernel dehydration rate, 59 maize inbred lines from six subgroups were selected. Grain moisture was measured and QTLs associated with kernel dehydration were mapped. A rapid dehydration evaluation and association analysis revealed eight inbred lines with faster dehydration rat...
متن کاملIdentification of QTLs for Arsenic Accumulation in Maize (Zea mays L.) Using a RIL Population
The Arsenic (As) concentration in different tissues of maize was analyzed using a set of RIL populations derived from an elite hybrid, Nongda108. The results showed that the trend of As concentration in the four measured tissues was leaves>stems>bracts>kernels. Eleven QTLs for As concentration were detected in the four tissues. Three QTLs for As concentration in leaves were mapped on chromosome...
متن کاملRecombination in Zea Mays
meiotic process in plants or animals does not necessarily produce the same T:!rcentage of recombinants in male and female germ cells. In maize, the frequency of recombination in a particular chromosomal region is usually higher in microsporogenesis than in megasporogenesis, if a difference exists at all. Chromosomes 2 and 10, according to genetic tests thus far, have similar recombination frequ...
متن کاملAssociation Mapping for Enhancing Maize (Zea mays L.) Genetic Improvement
Association mapping through linkage disequilibrium (LD) analysis is a powerful tool for the dissection of complex agronomic traits and for the identifi cation of alleles that can contribute to the enhancement of a target trait. With the developments of high throughput genotyping techniques and advanced statistical approaches as well as the assembling and characterization of multiple association...
