Screening of Low-Dosage Methanol as a Hydrate Promoter

We report a quantitative study of the effect low-concentration methanol (MeOH) on formation and dissociation hydrates based CH4 CO2/N2 guest molecules. The kinetic promotion ability MeOH is also compared with anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS, 100 ppm, 50 ppm). effects concentration changes (1 wt% 5 wt%), pressure (p = 80–120 bar), molecules (CH4 CO2), temperature °C below 0 °C) are investigated using slow constant ramp (SCR) isothermal (IT) schemes. results show that kinetics affected by molecule concentration. For gas, shows better promotion, while for gas mixtures, 1 gives promotion. This conclusion agrees well our previous demonstrating optimal recovery CO2 storage in presence MeOH. promoting inhibiting properties could be beneficial production from hydrate CO2-rich injection, as delayed film improve both storage.
