چکیده
Nine unidentified marine sponges from Bunaken Island waters in Manado Indonesia were observed on anti-tuberculosis (TB) against non-pathogenic Mycobacterium smegmatis NBRC 3207 and it was found that the ethanol crude extracts ODS fractions of these inhibited growth bacteria M. smegmatis. Sponge SP.323 is most inhibiting showed Intermediate (I) activity with inhibition zones 9, 11, 8 mm/disk at 10µg/disk., for fraction 3,4,5,6 respectively, need further experimental analysis to justify antimicrobial activity, NMR structure elucidation.

Antibacterial Activity of Marine Sponge Extracts against Fish Pathogenic Bacteria
Secondary metabolites of the marine sponges Acanthella elongata, Axinella donnani, Callyspongia diffusa, Callyspongia subarmigera, and Echinodictyum gorgonoides were collected from fishing nets and their in vitro antibacterial properties against eight virulent marine fish pathogens were studied at incubation temperatures of 20°C and 30°C. Crude methanol extracts of the tested sponges showed spe...

In the present study effort have been made to find the anti-bacteria effect of six medicinal plant essential oil namely, Ocimum bascilicum (Basil oil), mentha arvensis (Cormint oil),Zingiber officinale(ginger oil),citrus limon(lemon oil), thymus mastichina (Marjoram oil) and mentha spicata (Spearmint oil) were assessed for anti bacterial activity against therefore pathogenic bacteria such as B....
متن کاملAntibacterial Activity of Polyethylenimine/Carrageenan Multilayer against Pathogenic Bacteria
The multilayer of polyethylenimine (PEI) and carrageenan (κ, ι, λ) formed by layer-by-layer assembly was investigated for its antibacterial activity against Enterobacter cloaceae, Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis 29505 for potential use as coating on biomaterial surface. All the multilayers exhibited growth inhibition. PEI/Iota carrageenan multilayer was effective in inhibiting t...
متن کاملAntibacterial activity of caffeine against plant pathogenic bacteria.
The objective of the present study was to evaluate the antibacterial properties of a plant secondary metabolite - caffeine. Caffeine is present in over 100 plant species. Antibacterial activity of caffeine was examined against the following plant-pathogenic bacteria: Ralstonia solanacearum (Rsol), Clavibacter michiganesis subsp. sepedonicus (Cms), Dickeya solani (Dsol), Pectobacterium atrosepti...
متن کاملAntioxidant and antibacterial activity of red seaweed Kappaphycus alvarezii against pathogenic bacteria
Seaweeds can produce variety of bioactive components for the benefits of humans. Malaysia is one of the countries to produce red seaweeds, which are popular secondary metabolites. Kappaphycus species, largest tropical red algae exhibit the high growth rate. It was reported that its biomass can grow double in just 15 to 30 days. Therefore, this investigation emphasized on two extraction...
