چکیده

Background d ‐Dimer level is a marker of hypercoagulability, which associated with thrombus formation and resolution. We investigated the value ‐dimer levels in predicting outcomes acute ischemic stroke patients who underwent endovascular treatment (EVT). Methods analyzed data only EVT from SECRET (Selection Criteria Endovascular Thrombectomy Thrombolytic Therapy) registry. were routinely measured 10 15 participating hospitals. Patients grouped into tertiles (tertile 1, tertile 2, 3) according to (lowest, moderate, highest, respectively). compared serial scores on National Institutes Health Stroke Scale at baseline, day 1 hospitalization, discharge; functional outcome 3 months after EVT; rate mortality within 6 EVT. Results In 170 patients, median was 477 ng/mL (interquartile range, 249–988 ng/mL). 3, score higher discharge than hospitalization. Poor (modified Rankin score, ≥3) more common high (26.3% 57.1% 76.4% 3; P <0.001). Multivariable analysis showed that independently poor (odds ratio [OR], 4.399 [95% CI, 1.594–12.135]). Kaplan–Meier survival death (OR, 5.441 1.560–18.978]; log‐rank test, The effect no heterogeneity across subgroups for or direction unfavorable all demographic strata. Conclusions High plasma predictive early neurologic worsening, EVT, Registration URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov ; Unique identifier: NCT02964052.

History of Endovascular Acute Ischemic Stroke Treatment

The natural history of large-vessel extracranial and intracranial arterial occlusion has played a major role in the evolution of endovascular stroke therapy. Basilar artery occlusion was felt to have the worst prognosis, and this drove Zeumer et al to first perform basilar thrombolysis via catheter and report excellent outcomes based on historical controls. However, early stroke thrombolysis cl...

[Endovascular treatment for acute ischemic stroke].

The benefit of endovascular treatment (ET) after acute ischemic stroke has long been debated. Recent studies have demonstrated the clinical benefit of ET up to approximately 8 hours after stroke onset, mainly in association with intranenous thrombolysis. The positive effect is higher if ET is initiated early and performed by an experienced team. Current ET techniques include thrombectomy with c...

Endovascular Treatment for Acute Ischemic Stroke

To the Editor: In the Mechanical Retrieval and Recanalization of Stroke Clots Using Embolectomy (MR RESCUE) trial, reported by Kidwell et al. (March 7 issue),1 22 participating centers enrolled 118 patients during the period from 2004 through 2011. Thus, on average, each participating center enrolled 1 patient every 16 months. This extremely low rate may suggest that inclusion in the trial was ...

The Outcome of Treatment With Recombinant Tissue Plasminogen Activator in Acute Ischemic Stroke

Background: Thrombolytic therapy is the recommended treatment of acute ischemic stroke. It is crucial to evaluate the treatment results with recombinant Tissue Plasminogen Activator (r-TPA) in patients with acute stroke. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate treatment outcomes with r-TPA in patients with acute stroke in a referral stroke center in Iran. Materials & Methods: In this retrosp...
