Scientific maps should reach everyone: The cblindplot R package to let colour blind people visualise spatial patterns

چکیده

Maps represent powerful tools to show the spatial variation of a variable in straightforward manner. A crucial aspect map rendering for its interpretation by users is gamut colours used displaying data. One part this problem linked proportion human population that colour blind and, therefore, highly sensitive palette selection. The aim paper present cblindplot R package and founding function - cblind.plot() which enables people just enter an image coding workflow, simply set their deficiency type, immediately get as output friendly plot. We will first describe detail problems, then step example being proposed. While examples exist provide with proper palettes, such cases (i) workflow include separate import application ramp palettes (ii) albeit well documented, there are many steps be done before plotting palette. described paper, on contrary, allows automatically call inside without any initial explicitly refer type experienced, further apply

Using Bibliometric Maps to Visualise Term Distribution in Scientific Papers

Bibliometric maps are scaled representations of clusters of papers and provide an overview of a scientific field as provided by those papers and the references between them. We have enhanced our interactive bibliometric explorer (iBEX) to visualise the distribution of phrases over such bibliometric maps. Assuming that generic (non-content-bearing) phrases occur in most of the papers in the map,...

spatstat: An R Package for Analyzing Spatial Point Patterns

spatstat is a package for analyzing spatial point pattern data. Its functionality includes exploratory data analysis, model-fitting, and simulation. It is designed to handle realistic datasets, including inhomogeneous point patterns, spatial sampling regions of arbitrary shape, extra covariate data, and ‘marks’ attached to the points of the point pattern. A unique feature of spatstat is its gen...

Designing Interfaces to Visualise Domestic Communication Patterns

In this paper we propose an approach to visualise the domestic communication patterns by designing domestic interfaces. We conduct a review of literatures on the development of interaction interfaces including the design and evaluation methods, the communication patterns in the home, and the design methods for domestic infrastructures. Following an analysis of current design approaches and inte...

Cognitive Maps to Visualise Clinical Cases in Handovers

Background: Clinical handovers at changes of shifts are typical scenarios of time restricted and information intensive communication, which are highly cognitively demanding. The currently available applications supporting handovers typically present complex information in a textual checklist-like manner. This presentation style has been criticised for not meeting the specific user requirements....
