Scheduling of Traffic Entities Under Reduced Traffic Flow by Means of Fuzzy Logic Control

چکیده

This paper presents the design of a fuzzy logic-based traffic scheduling algorithm aimed at reducing congestion for case partial obstruction bidirectional lane. Such problem is typically encountered in rail and personal rapid transportation systems with predefined fixed corridors. The proposed proportional-derivative (PD) control algorithm, serving as automaton, alternately assigns adaptive green light periods to coming from each direction. controller has been compared conventional automaton featuring fixed-durations intervals. comparison carried out within simulation environment four different probability distributions stochastic flows end considered corridor. Results have shown that performance far superior law terms achieving shorter vehicle queue lengths less disparity all scenarios.
