چکیده
Tidal inlets with attached sand spits are a very common coastal landform. Since the evolution of along coastlines influence social-economic development local areas, have become objects numerous studies. However, previous studies mainly focused on that usually in scale hundreds meters width, whilst knowledge about smaller-scale still remains limited. Therefore, this study, morphological change small and unexplored spit front Song Tranh Inlet west coast Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam is investigated. Satellite images first used to observe calculate longshore sediment transport rates (LSTR) spit. Waves beach sediments collected at study site rate using CERC formula. It found there seasonal variation Inlet. The calculated by image analysis 39,000 m3/year, 66,000 40,000 formula 72,000 m3/year. This aims contribute methodology for investigating evolutions and, specifically, sustainable management which well-known as Pearl Island Vietnam.

A new species of Dixonius (Squamata: Gekkonidae) from Phu Quy Island, Vietnam.
We describe a new species of Dixonius on the basis of five specimens from Phu Quy Island, Binh Thuan Province, in southern Vietnam. The new species can be distinguished from congeners based on molecular and morphological differences. Diagnostic features are: small size (SVL up to 44 mm); 7 or 8 supralabials; 11 or 12 rows of keeled tubercles on dorsum; 21-23 ventral scale rows; 5 or 6 precloaca...
متن کاملTime variations of the ionosphere at the northern tropical crest of ionization at Phu Thuy, Vietnam
This study is the first which gives the climatology of the ionosphere at the northern tropical crest of ionization in the Asian sector. We use the data from Phu Thuy station, in Vietnam, through three solar cycles (20, 21 and 22), showing the complete morphology of ionosphere parameters by analyzing long term variation, solar cycle variation and geomagnetic activity effects, seasonal evolution ...

This study is a first report of an interstitial ostracod from Southeast Asia. The ostracod species, Paracobanocythere vietnamensis sp. n., was found in the marine interstitial environment of Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam. Thus far, three species of this genus have been described. The morphology of the carapace as well as the appendages of this new species are quite similar to P. hawaiiensis and P. w...
متن کاملStability of a sand spit due to dredging in an adjacent creek
The Jatadharmohan creek lies between Mahanadi and Devi Rivers along the Orissa coast and it is separated from the sea by an elongated sand spit. It was proposed to mine a volume of 15 x 10 m of sand from the creek for land filling, but maintaining the spit intact. For this, the stability of sand spit is studied with different criteria. The results confirm that the creek mouth is a near permanen...

New findings of the white-toothed shrews (Crocidura spp.) from offshore islands of Vietnam are reported. The species identifications have been confirmed by the analysis of complete mitochondrial cytochrome b gene (1140 bp). Crocidura phuquocensis is the only species found in the Phu Quoc Island. Crocidura fuliginosa has been recorded from two islands of the Con Dao Archipelago (Con Son and Bai ...
