Sailing with solar and planetary radiation pressure

Literature on solar sailing has thus far mostly considered radiation pressure (SRP) as the only contribution to sail force. However, considering a in planetary mission scenario, new can be added. Since planet itself emits radiation, this generates radial (PRP) that is also exerted sail. Hence, work studies combined effects of both SRP and PRP for two case studies, i.e. Earth Venus. In proximity Earth, effect significant under specific conditions. Around Venus, instead, by dominating contribution. These have been studied single- double-sided reflective coating including eclipse. Results show potential increase net acceleration change optimal attitude maximise given direction. Moreover, an increasing semi-major axis manoeuvre shown with without PRP, quantify difference real-case scenario.
