چکیده
Recent years have witnessed a considerable progress in research aimed at merging transition metal catalysis with chemical and cell biology. Therefore, crescent number of metal-catalyzed transformations been shown compatible biological media even living settings. Of the different metals used to build these biocompatible catalysts, ruthenium has demonstrated be particularly powerful, part because resulting complexes exhibit very good balance between reactivity stability. Indeed, utility promote great variety reactions biologically relevant contexts, from deprotection redox processes cycloadditions or photocatalytic transformations. Many may enable development new type tools pharmacological strategies.

Ruthenium catalysis in organic synthesis*
Ruthenium, rhodium, iridium, and rhenium hydride complexes are highly useful redox Lewis acid and base catalysts. Various substrates bearing hetero atoms are activated by these catalysts and undergo reactions with either nucleophiles or electrophiles under neutral conditions. These types of catalytic reactions are described together with their application to the preparation of various biologica...
متن کاملMonitoring Biological Invasions in Freshwater Habitats
Biological invasions of freshwater habitats are due to the accidental or deliberate introduction of organisms associated to aquaculture, sports fishing, passive transport by vessels, ornamental uses and man-made canals and corridors. In European freshwater habitats, about 296 species of alien invertebrate, mostly crustaceans, and 136 species of alien fish have been introduced (Gherardi et al. 2...
متن کاملEnantioselective hydrovinylation via asymmetric counteranion-directed ruthenium catalysis.
The first Ru-catalyzed enantioselective hydrovinylation has been realized by using an asymmetric counteranion-directed catalysis strategy. Styrene derivatives react with ethylene in excellent yields and promising enantioselectivity using this approach.
متن کاملCationic silane sigma-complexes of ruthenium with relevance to catalysis.
Hydrosilylation of carbonyls catalyzed by 2 goes via intermediate formation of cationic silane sigma-complexes 4 which undergo nucleophilic abstraction of the silylium cation studied by DFT calculations.
متن کاملDynamic control of catalysis within biological cells
We develop a theory of enzyme catalysis within biological cells where the substrate concentration [S](t) is time dependent, in contrast to the Michaelis-Menten theory that assumes a steady state. We find that the time varying concentration can combine, in a non-linear way, with the ruggedness of the free energy landscape of enzymes (discovered both in single molecule studies and in simulations)...
