Russo-Ukrainian relations in the 20th Century are dominated by genocide. Using Raphel Lemkin and Martin Shaw as a guide, one finds that during was long period of genocidal action, linked periods punctuated genocides. These genocides included several political quelled Ukrainian nationalism independence kept it subjugated to Soviet Russia. Russia's genocide carryover from Imperial Russia treatment Ukraine, arch which carries over into today's between two countries. Understanding this helps make sense enduring relationship
