چکیده

Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) is a critical protein for photosynthesis. With small subunits, RBCSs catalyze the fixation of CO2 onto ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate (RuBP). However, gene characteristics peanut RBCSs, and relationship between their expression growth under nitrogen (N)-deficiency conditions are not yet known. This study targeted impact sufficient N (5 mmol/L NO3?) deficient (0.1 on seedlings’ growth, physiology, molecular aspects. Herein, eight RBCS encoding genes were identified in genome, described. The leaf areas Yu Hang Hua 1 (YH1) An 3 (AH3) reduced significantly after 10 days while “Pu Ke 18” (PK18) “Luo 4087” (LH4087) had higher N-deficiency adaptations initial stage. Rubisco carboxylation activities YH1 PK18 increased 5 stress they decreased 15 conditions. Furthermore, qRT-PCR results showed that expressions AhRBCS 1/5 AhRBCS2/6 negative relationships with morpho-physiological traits low-N stress. provides biological information lays theoretical foundation utilization crop plants.

Rubisco small subunits from the unicellular green alga Chlamydomonas complement Rubisco‐deficient mutants of Arabidopsis

Introducing components of algal carbon concentrating mechanisms (CCMs) into higher plant chloroplasts could increase photosynthetic productivity. A key component is the Rubisco-containing pyrenoid that is needed to minimise CO2 retro-diffusion for CCM operating efficiency. Rubisco in Arabidopsis was re-engineered to incorporate sequence elements that are thought to be essential for recruitment ...

Photosynthesis: Rubisco rescue.

The sunlight-driven conversion of carbon dioxide into organic matter fuels nearly all life on Earth. The enzyme Rubisco catalyses the fixation of carbon dioxide in photosynthesis, and thereby serves as the entry point for inorganic carbon into the biosphere. Rubisco limits biomass accumulation when sunlight is plentiful, and has therefore been heavily targeted in bioengineering efforts to boost...

Photosynthesis, Rubisco Activity and Amount, and Their Regulation by Transcription in Senescing Soybean Leaves.

Senescence is a phase of leaf ontogeny marked by declining photosynthetic activity that, in soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr.), is paralleled by a decline in chloroplast function. Soybean leaves have different patterns of decline in photosynthetic capacity and chloroplast function associated with nodal position and sink activity. The objective of this work was to determine whether leaves from nod...

Rubisco, Rubisco activase, and global climate change.

Global warming and the rise in atmospheric CO(2) will increase the operating temperature of leaves in coming decades, often well above the thermal optimum for photosynthesis. Presently, there is controversy over the limiting processes controlling photosynthesis at elevated temperature. Leading models propose that the reduction in photosynthesis at elevated temperature is a function of either de...

Large centric diatoms allocate more cellular nitrogen to photosynthesis to counter slower RUBISCO turnover rates

*Correspondence: Douglas A. Campbell, Department of Biology, Mount Allison University, 63B York St., Sackville, NB E4L1G7, Canada e-mail: [email protected] Diatoms contribute ∼40% of primary production in the modern ocean and encompass the largest cell size range of any phytoplankton group. Diatom cell size influences their nutrient uptake, photosynthetic light capture, carbon export efficiency,...
