چکیده

Abstract This paper presents the experimental analysis of vulcanization process nitrile rubbers for diaphragms fabrication used in FBG-based pressure sensors. Tests using with different rubber thicknesses (0.5mm, 1.0mm, and 1.5mm), temperatures (125°C, 150°C, 200°C), times (2.5min 5.0min) were performed to analyse chemical degradation diaphragms. Degradation was digital macrography diaphragm surfaces stiffness analysed by tensile tests. An FBG embedded which vulcanized temperature time resulted lowest degradation, a compression test performed. Results show that at 125°C presented smaller areas, 0.5mm an area mean 17.5%, whereas 1.0mm 14.5%, 1.5mm showed 11.0%. Moreover, greater thickness led degraded same time. Thus, rubber, higher results material stiffness, where is directly related reduction cross-links due area. sensitivity 11.67kPa/mm wavelength 456.1pm/mm thicknesses, 18.04kPa/mm sensitivity, 112.3pm/mm 31.55kPa/mm 913.8pm/mm thickness. It concludes obtained when comparing wavelength.

Influence of Individual Differences on the Calculation Method for FBG-Type Blood Pressure Sensors

In this paper, we propose a blood pressure calculation and associated measurement method that by using a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor. There are several points at which the pulse can be measured on the surface of the human body, and when a FBG sensor located at any of these points, the pulse wave signal can be measured. The measured waveform is similar to the acceleration pulse wave. The pu...

Vulcanization and the Properties of Rubber

Rubber is composed of long stringlike polymer molecules, which are pinned together at random points by crosslinks. As the density of crosslinks is increased, the molecules get localized and the system undergoes a phase transition from a liquid to an amorphous solid state. The elastic properties of the resulting solid are very different from those of metals, and are primarily due to changes in t...

From Vulcanization to Isotropic and Nematic Rubber Elasticity

– A Landau theory is constructed for the vulcanization transition in cross-linked polymer systems with spontaneous nematic ordering. The neo-classical theory of the elasticity of nematic elastomers is derived via the minimization of this Landau free energy; this neoclassical theory contains the classical theory of rubber elasticity as its isotropic limit. Our work not only reveals the statistic...

Highly sensitive flexible pressure sensors with microstructured rubber dielectric layers.

The development of an electronic skin is critical to the realization of artificial intelligence that comes into direct contact with humans, and to biomedical applications such as prosthetic skin. To mimic the tactile sensing properties of natural skin, large arrays of pixel pressure sensors on a flexible and stretchable substrate are required. We demonstrate flexible, capacitive pressure sensor...

Dynamic Method of Neutral Axis Position Determination and Damage Identification with Distributed Long-Gauge FBG Sensors

The neutral axis position (NAP) is a key parameter of a flexural member for structure design and safety evaluation. The accuracy of NAP measurement based on traditional methods does not satisfy the demands of structural performance assessment especially under live traffic loads. In this paper, a new method to determine NAP is developed by using modal macro-strain (MMS). In the proposed method, ...
