RSM-based Investigation of Cesium Removal from Aqueous Media with Nanocomposites Prepared by Spherical Mesoporous Silica and Potassium Metal Hexacyanoferrate

In this study, different variables that influence cesium adsorption from aqueous solutions were investigated by a synthesized nanocomposite. The spherical mesoporous silica surfaces modified with potassium hexacyanoferrate and characterized various methods such as FT-IR, XRD, FESEM, TGA BET/BJH. response surface methodology based on Central Composite Design was applied to optimize the ion conditions, including effects of initial concentration, contact time, temperature pH. Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin isotherm models analyzed equilibrium concentration data. studies indicated Langmuir model provides best correlation experimental Based kinetic studies, Blanchards fits well pH most influential factors adsorption. According obtained results, it can be concluded nanocomposite adsorbed ions selectively even in presence high Na+, K+, Sr2+ ions.
