چکیده

Objective: To measure the efficiency of using advanced generations some commercial tomato hybrids for small farmers and to identify most important yield components associated with yield. Design/Methodology/Approach: Seven saladette-type indeterminate growth were evaluated, as well their respective F2s F3s under greenhouse conditions. The evaluation three was carried out during 2013 agricultural cycle. Three harvests made at 82, 94 136 days after transplanting. experiment a randomized complete block design, 4 replications 10 plants per replication. Results: Results indicated that there significant differences few traits in F2 F3. Path analysis showed total number fruits had highest direct indirect effects on through generations. Limitations study/implications: usefulness would depend genetic background parental lines take part such hybrids, present high inbreeding depression depending composition progenitors. Findings/Conclusions: Advanced ‘LORETO’, ‘CUAUHTÉMOC’ ‘ESPARTACO’ could be used by growers since low values observed F3 families

Proteomic analysis of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum, formerly hycopersicon esculentum) pollen

In flowering plants, pollen grains are produced in the anther and released to the external environment with the primary function of delivering sperm cells to the female gametophyte. This study was conducted to identify proteins in tomato pollen and to analyse their roles in relation to pollen function. Tomato is an important crop which is grown worldwide and is an excellent experimental system....

Genome-wide Identification, Phylogenetic and Expression Analysis of ABC1K Gene Family in Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

Activity of bc1 complex (ABC1K) is a protein kinase commonly found in eukaryotes and prokaryotes. It plays an important role in various developmental and physiological processes, especially critical for plant response to diverse biotic and abiotic stresses. In this study, a genome analysis was carried out and 18 genes of ABC1K family were identified in tomato. Phylogenetic results showed that t...

Sterol composition of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) seed oil: the effect of cultivar

The effect of cultivar on sterol composition of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) seed oil from three industrial cultivars (Principe Borghese, Rebelion F1 and San Marzano) grown in Calabria Region (Southern Italy) was investigated. Sterol composition is presented both as percentage on the total sterol content (%) and as an absolute value (mg/kg). Rebelion F1 produced the worst seed oil in terms ...

Metabolic fingerprinting of Tomato Mosaic Virus infected Solanum lycopersicum.

(1)H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based metabolomics has been applied to study the compatible interaction between tomato plants and Tomato Mosaic Virus (ToMV). A detailed time course of metabolic fingerprinting of ToMV-inoculated and non-inoculated systemically infected tomato leaves has provided a fundamental understanding of the metabolic state of the plant not only in response to ToMV in...

Identification and characterization of histone deacetylases in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)

Histone acetylation and deacetylation at the N-terminus of histone tails play crucial roles in the regulation of eukaryotic gene activity. Histone acetylation and deacetylation are catalyzed by histone acetyltransferases and histone deacetylases (HDACs), respectively. A growing number of studies have demonstrated the importance of histone deacetylation/acetylation on genome stability, transcrip...
