چکیده
Objective: To perform comparative diagnostic study with rotavirus infected stool samples for efficacy ofindigenously prepared molecular transport medium (IMTM).Study Design: It was an experimental study.Place and Duration of Study: The conducted at Department Microbiology University Karachi,Karachi Pakistan from June to July 2021.Materials Methods: current based on hospital surveillance rotavirusgastroenteritis among children <5 years age, were collected in commercially available viraltransport medium. Samples known positive /negative through PREMIER Rota clone Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) kit test. Total 64 selected evaluate theefficacy indigenous (IMTM). Stool spiked IMTM andcommercial viral (CVTM). RNA extraction Real-time PCR performed byQIAmp house assay respectively as per manufacturer' instructions. Similar method extractionand Real-Time both type adopted. Results: Comparative analysis Cycle threshold (Ct) values paired (IMTM vs CVTM) performed.Real-Time (RT-PCR) negative results consistent each pair (p<0.0001).Conclusion: indigenously formulated found capable sample collection, transportation andprocessing detection PCR.

Laboratory evaluation of a specimen transport medium for downstream molecular processing of sputum samples to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
BACKGROUND Modern molecular-based approaches for the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in sputum samples promise quicker and more accurate detection of cases. However, processing sputum samples at central diagnostic facilities provides a diagnostic approach, but requires a safe and efficient system that is not affected by transport delays and ambient temperature to be feasible. We evaluat...
متن کاملProcessing and transport of environmental virus samples.
Poliovirus-seeded tap water, conditioned with MgCl2 and passed through virus-adsorbing filters, gave better poliovirus recovery than water identically treated but conditioned with AlCl3. Elution of several filter types with beef extract yielded higher recoveries than did elution with glycine. Seeded samples filtered through various filters and stored showed considerable virus loss in 2 days whe...
متن کاملIndigenously developed multipurpose acrylic head phantom for verification of IMRT using film and gel dosimetry
The purpose of this study was to validate the newly designed acrylic phantom for routine dosimetric purpose in radiotherapy. The phantom can be used to evaluate and compare the calculated dose and measured dose using film and gel dosimetric methods. In this study, a doughnut-shaped planning target volume (8.54 cm3) and inner organ at risk (0.353 cm3) were delineated for an IMRT test plan using ...
متن کاملEvaluation of Clinical Use of Indigenously Developed Delta Plate in Management of Subcondylar Fracture
Condylar fractures account for 25-35% of mandibular fractures and deserve a special consideration apart from rest of the mandible due to their anatomical differences and healing potential. Previous clinical and biomechanical studies have recommended using two miniplates for fixation of condyle fractures. Two miniplates require a certain size of the proximal condyle fragment and thus are applica...
متن کاملStudy on the response of indigenously developed CaSO4:Dy phosphor-based neutron dosemeter.
In the present paper, we report the indigenous development of a neutron-sensitive thermoluminescent dosemeter (TLD) based on CaSO4:Dy Teflon TL disc. The study includes indigenous development of a neutron dosemeter and its response in terms of operational quantity to different energies of neutrons under various irradiation conditions. It was found that the thermal neutron sensitivity of the CaS...
