چکیده

ABSTRACT Objectives To compare changes in maxillary molar root resorption, intrusion amount, dentoskeletal measures, and maximum bite force (MBF) between clear aligners (CA) fixed appliances with miniscrew (FM) during intrusion. Materials Methods Forty adults anterior open were randomized into either CA or FM groups. Lateral cephalograms, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), MBF collected at pretreatment (T0) 6 months of treatment (T1). Maxillary intruded by nickel-titanium (NiTi) closed-coil spring delivered (150 grams/side) while combined squeezing exercise performed CA. Parametric tests used for statistical analysis. Results After treatment, significant resorption 0.21–0.24 mm 0.38–0.47 found molars 0.68 1.49 FM, respectively. showed less than FM. Overbite, closing, increased significantly. significantly overbite SN-MP but more increase was correlated the amount (r = 0.736, P < .05). Conclusions half months. The one-third distance. displayed closing positively amount.

INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to evaluate the treatment effects of the First Class Appliance (FCA) (Leone, Firenze, Italy) used for the distalization of maxillary first molars in patients with Class II malocclusion and mixed dentition. METHODS According to the results of the power analysis for sample size calculation, 32 consecutive patients with bilateral Class II molar relationship...

Combined treatment with headgear and the Frog appliance for maxillary molar distalization: a randomized controlled trial

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficiency of the Frog appliance (FA) alone or in combination with headgear for distalizing the maxillary molars. METHODS Fifty patients (25 males and 25 females) aged 12.6 - 16.7 years who received treatment for Class II malocclusion at the Orthodontic Clinic of Al-Baath University were selected for this study and randomly divided into 2 equal groups. Maxillary mola...

Zinc deficiency during pregnancy has been related to adverse pregnancy outcomes. However, the results of zinc-supplementation trials have not been consistent in improvement of pregnancies outcomes. This study was undertaken to investigate whether zinc supplementation was associated with pregnancy complications in Iranian women during the last 2 trimesters. It also assessed the anthropometric me...

Endodontic Retreatment of a Maxillary First Molar with Unusual Palatal Root Canal Morphology: A Case Report

Introdouction: Variations in root canal morphology pose a challenge for successful endodontic treatment. The root canal anatomy of the maxillary first molar has been often described as three roots with four canals (two mesiobuccal, one distobuccal, and one palatal). The occurrence of two palatal canals in one palatal root is quite rare. This report represents the case of a maxillary first molar...

Extensive Idiopathic External Root Resorption in First Maxillary Molar: A Case Report

External root resorption of permanent teeth is a multifactorial process. Several etiologic and predisposing factors have been related to external root resorption. Idiopathic external root resorption is defined as cases of external root resorption without a distinct etiologic factor. This article presents an extensive idiopathic external root resorption of maxillary first molar with irreversible...
