چکیده

Abstract Plantain is the fourth most important crop in world, considered as a basic and export product Ecuador. The root distribution of three plantain cultivars (Musa AAB) grown Ecuador was evaluated at “Río Suma” Experimental Farm, “Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí” University, 0º15’ S, 79º26’ W. were ‘Barraganete’, ‘Curare Enano’ ‘Dominico Hartón’, determined according to phenology plants (10, 20, 30, 40 leaves (inflorescence) harvest), seeded 2.5 m x 1.8 m. In completely randomized block design with five replicates, plants·cultivar-1 selected for each evaluation. Root carried out soil profiles between rows. greatest occurred 20 cm laterally, up depth. Longitudinally, roots 60 cm, Hartón’ (50 cm) ‘Barraganete’ (40 cm); depth had 30 length 50 cm. can establish agronomic management criteria determine plant density, fertilization irrigation.
