Root canal retreatment and repair of iatrogenic perforation: A case report

چکیده

Introduction. Root perforations may occur following endodontic treatment, thus compromising the root integrity and treatment outcome. Case Report. A patient presented with a canal perforation an earlier of upper left lateral incisor (tooth 22). Once diagnosis symptomatic periapical periodontitis was established, decision made to retreat using mineral trioxide aggregate perform apicoectomy. The procedure performed in three sessions two follow-up visits, after 12 18 months, respectively. At last follow-up, bone neoformation observed region treated tooth. Conclusion. Successful outcome this case depended on appropriate diagnosis, surgical site disinfection, as well sealing prevent recontamination.
