Room temperature tensile deformation behavior of a Ni-based superalloy with high W content

چکیده

K416B Ni-based superalloy with high W content has good temperature properties and low cost, which a great development potential. To investigate the room tensile property deformation feature of superalloy, testing at was carried out, optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron (SEM) transmission (TEM) were used to analyze damage mechanisms. Results show that main features nickel-based are dislocations slipping in matrix shearing into ?? phase. The <110> super-dislocations phase can form anti-phase boundary two coupled (a/2)<110> partial-dislocations or decompose configuration (a/3)<112> partial plus stacking fault. In later stage testing, slip-lines different orientations activated grain, causing stress concentration regions block carbide porosity, cracks initiate propagate along these regions.

High Temperature Deformation Mechanisms in a DLD Nickel Superalloy

The realisation of employing Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) technologies to produce components in the aerospace industry is significantly increasing. This can be attributed to their ability to offer the near-net shape fabrication of fully dense components with a high potential for geometrical optimisation, all of which contribute to subsequent reductions in material wastage and component we...

The Effect of High Temperature Exposure on Dendritic Segregation in a Conventionally Cast Ni Based Superalloy

Dendritic segregation in conventionally cast, commercially heat treated and exposed MarM002 turbine blades has been investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDS). During casting Cr, Co and W segregate to the dendrites and Hf, Ti and Ta segregate to the eutectics. As a result of the dissolution of γ' precipitates in the dendrites and coarsening ...

Fretting on the cubic face of a single-crystal Ni-base superalloy at room temperature

Fretting experiments were conducted on the (10 0) crystal (cubic) face of a single crystal Ni-base superalloy in two directions, /10 0S and /110S, to study the effect of crystallographic orientation on the fretting response in both partial slip and gross slip regimes. The study involved point contacts using a tungsten carbide (WC) ball with radius 10 mm tested at room temperature. Ball indentat...

Simulation of oxidation-nitridation-induced microstructural degradation in a cracked Ni- based superalloy at high temperature

In turbine engines, high temperature components made of superalloys may crack in a creep process during service. With the inward flux of the gases, e.g. oxygen and nitrogen, along those cracks, the microstructure of the superalloy substrate nearby the cracks may degrade by internal oxidation and nitridation. The aim of this study is to investigate and simulate the oxidation-nitridation-induced ...
