چکیده

Abstract Background Lumbosacral plexus is a collection of nerves that converge and diverge finally merge into terminal innervate the pelvis lower limbs. plexopathy clinical disease characterized by motor sensory abnormalities can result from damage to lumbosacral different types insults. Electrophysiological studies are used demonstrate presence radiculo-plexopathy, but it restricted owing deep position regional differences in muscle nerve supply. High-resolution MR neurography simply show precise site, size, etiology, type radiculo-plexopathy . The aim this study was assess various diseases affecting with their 1.5-T imaging findings correlate these electrophysiological studies. Results Fifty adult patients presentation were included cross-sectional study. Based on diagnosis, sensitivity diagnosing 80% 90%. While based studies, 97.5% specificity 75.86%. There high statistically significant relation between side affected stage lesion among ( p ≤ 0.001, 0.001) , respectively. Conclusions helpful non-invasive approach for assessment inconclusive lumbar spine because its ability diagnosis neuromuscular lesions determining causes. function assesses anatomy, therefore, correlation complementary detection radiculo-plexopathy.

Magnetic resonance neurography in extraspinal sciatica.

BACKGROUND Sciatica without evidence of lumbosacral root compression is often attributed to piriformis syndrome. However, specific diagnostic tools have not been available to demonstrate sciatic nerve entrapment by the piriformis muscle. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the use of magnetic resonance (MR) neurography in identifying abnormalities of the sciatic nerve in patients with unexplained sciatica....
