Rock Brittleness Evaluation Index Based on Ultimate Elastic Strain Energy

چکیده
Brittleness is an essential parameter to determine the deformation and failure behavior of rocks, it useful quantify brittleness rocks in numerus engineering practices. A novel energy-based evaluation index proposed this study, which redefines dissipated proportion ultimate elastic strain energy relative post-peak residual energy. series conventional triaxial compression (CTC) tests were performed on shale rock verify reliability accuracy index. The results show that can precisely reflect characteristic under different confining pressures. Based testing data from six types previous studies, universality was verified. According comparison with existing indices, new more characterize rock.
