Robust Optimization for Electricity Generation

We consider a robust optimization problem in an electric power system under uncertain demand and availability of renewable energy resources. Solving the deterministic alternating current optimal flow (ACOPF) has been considered challenging since 1960s due to its nonconvexity. Linear approximation AC sees pervasive use, but does not guarantee physically feasible configuration. In recent years, various convex relaxation schemes for ACOPF have investigated, some assumptions, solution can be recovered. Based on these relaxations, we construct with recourse solve controllable injections (fossil fuel, nuclear, etc.) systems uncertainty (renewable generation, fluctuation, etc.). propose cutting-plane method this problem, establish convergence other desirable properties. Experimental results indicate that our provide tight lower bound.
