Robust Extraction of Soil Characteristics Using Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS

This research utilized various methods for extracting soil characteristics from Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS imagery in the Thua Thien Hue province, Vietnam. In this study, Object-Based Oriented Classification (OBOC) method was used to extract information about land cover (focusing on rock outcrops) basis of TGSI, NDVI, and NDBI indicators. The moisture determined by examining correlation between Land Surface Temperature (LST) Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). findings indicated that 40 locations study area were covered with outcrops, a Kappa index 85.10%. addition, varied markedly sandy coastal regions, urban areas, hilly mountainous areas area’s surface. extracted can serve as foundation local socio-economic development planning.
