Roadmap of the iron-based superconductor Majorana platform

With a series of recent breakthroughs, iron-based superconductors (FeSC) with topological Dirac surface state are becoming promising material platform for hosting Majorana zero modes, which we refer to as the iron-Majorana platform. This uniquely combines high-Tc superconductivity, band structure, and electron correlations into single material, successfully avoiding difficulties achieving intrinsic p-wave superconductor/topological insulator heterojunction systems. The most important advantages its wide region large quasiparticle gap, provide strong protection pure modes (MZMs). When systems, e.g., InAs/Al nanowire, have controversies being trivial Majorana-like states, platform, possesses well-understood physics clear experimental evidence vortex MZMs, is more likely be true MZM. However, unlike nanowire systems theoretical proposals braiding schemes, system has no concrete method exchanging MZMs or constructing qubit.
