RISK ASSESSMENT OF DIABETES USING INDIAN DIABETES RISK SCORE IN NON DIABETIC INDIVIDUALS

Background and Objectives: Diabetes has emerged as a major health challenge in India due to rapid rise the number of diabetes cases. Early identification high risk individuals through screening early interventions form lifestyle modifications treatment would help prevention its complications. This study was done assess type 2 mellitus (T2DM) an urban slum population using Indian Risk Score (IDRS) determine factors associated with score. Methods: A cross-sectional conducted among Department Gen. Medicine Sri Aurobindo Medical College Post Graduate Institute, Indore (18 Months). With institutional ethical committees permission. total 100 participants were selected randomly. pre-designed pre-tested structured questionnaire used for data collection. Assessment T2DM IDRS. Results: Of participants, 74% at (IDRS ≥60) followed by 24% moderate 30-50) 2% low <30). 45 age group ≥50 yr compared 25 35-49 group. Most (n=25, 87.5%) sedentary workers those employed (n=38, 75.4%) strenuous work (n=10, 51.9%). Interpretation & Conclusions: 74.3 percent high-risk T2DM. High-risk IDRS scores age, occupation, abdominal obesity, general blood pressure.
