Rigorous derivation of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation.
The time-dependent Gross-Pitaevskii equation describes the dynamics of initially trapped Bose-Einstein condensates. We present a rigorous proof of this fact starting from a many-body bosonic Schrödinger equation with a short-scale repulsive interaction in the dilute limit. Our proof shows the persistence of an explicit short-scale correlation structure in the condensate.
متن کاملOptical geometry analysis of the electromagnetic self - force
We present an analysis of the behaviour of the electromagnetic self-force for charged particles in a conformally static spacetime, interpreting the results with the help of optical geometry. Some conditions for the vanishing of the local terms in the self-force are derived and discussed. PACS: 04.20.Cv, 04.70.-s, 04.90.+e
متن کاملA Rigorous Analysis of High Order Electromagnetic
There is currently a great deal of interest in the invisibility cloaks recently proposed by Pendry et al. that are based in the transformation approach. They obtained their results using first order transformations. In recent papers Hendi et al. and Cai et al. considered invisibility cloaks with high order transformations. In this paper we study high order electromagnetic invisibility cloaks in...
متن کاملAn Electromagnetic Force Containing Two New Terms: Derivation from a 4D-Aether
The present author has postulated a 4-dimensional (4D) aether formed by a fluid of preons in continual motion in a 4D-space (w,x,y,z), where the time dimension w is treated exactly the same as the spatial dimensions. By specializing the equation of motion to an inviscid constant density region of 4D moving with speed c along the w-axis, we obtain Maxwell equations and the associated continuity ...
متن کاملThe self-interaction force on an arbitrarily moving point-charge and its energy-momentum radiation rate: A mathematically rigorous derivation of the Lorentz-Dirac equation of motion
The classical theory of radiating point-charges is revisited: the retarded potentials, fields, and currents are defined as nonlinear generalized functions and all calculations are made in a Colombeau algebra. The total rate of energy-momentum radiated by an arbitrarily moving relativistic point-charge under the effect of its own field is shown to be rigorously equal to minus the self-interactio...
