Rheological Parameters and Transport Characteristics of Fresh Cement Tailings Backfill Slurry in an Underground Iron Mine

Pipeline transportation is the key component of mine filling system. In this study, fresh cement tailing backfill (CTB) slurry made by unclassified tailings from Daye iron taken as research object, and its rheological parameters transport characteristics are studied via laboratory test FLUENT software. It was found that relationship curve dynamic yield stress, viscosity, solid content (SC) CTB fits law H-B model when SC varies between 60% 68%. However, gradually changes to fit Bingham mode reaches up 70%. Numerical simulation results demonstrate exceeds 65%, static pressure at pipeline’s outlet begins distribute symmetrically. At point, flow state relatively stable, pipeline resistance loss positively correlated with rate. When 70%, increase significantly.
