Revisit Deformation Behavior of Lath Martensite

Two mechanisms inconsistent each other, a relaxation of type II internal stress and presence mobile dislocation, were previously proposed to describe the low elastic limit as-quenched lath martensite steels. In this study, neutron diffraction experiments performed revisit deformation behavior steel. Dislocations with very dense in order 1015 m−2 observed single phase condition Fe–18Ni alloy. The profiles had good symmetry, showing that inhomogeneous stresses which might be introduced individual blocks or packets during martensitic transformation well balanced bulky specimen size, influence yield would small. 0.22C steel, dislocations random arrangement also as-tempered condition. symmetry. symmetry collapsed by tensile deformation, displaying occurrence load sharing between active slip systems in- out-of-lath-plane. highly easily moved at beginning then accumulated, annihilated changed differently depending on orientation packet respect direction. movement played an important role as mechanism can true feature dislocations.
