Review on Lumpy Skin Disease Virus Characteristics and its Diagnosis in Cattle

چکیده
Lumpy skin disease is characterized by its signs including eruptive, infectious and occasionally causing death to affected animals. It caused the family Poxviridea genus Capripox with a strain of Neethling virus, double stranded DNA virus. LSD clinical are mainly observed on as nodules (0.5 5 cm in diameter) throughout surface or subcutaneous tissue involving superficial lymph nodes. Diagnosis CaPV based upon laboratory confirmation virus isolation, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) electron microscopy. Field diagnosis often characteristic disease. However, mild subclinical forms require rapid reliable testing confirm diagnosis. Isolation can be made from collected biopsy at post-mortem nodules, lung lesions nodes within first week occurrence signs, before development neutralizing antibodies. There different methods detect antibody blood samples. These serum neutralization test (SNT), indirect fluorescent (IFAT) enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay. member CaPVs, it has single serotype, do not cause persistent infection, have limited host range vaccines available that may provide long term immunity. attributes increase prospect successfully implementing regional control programs, leading elimination conceivably global eradication.

Serum Biochemistry of Lumpy Skin Disease Virus-Infected Cattle
Lumpy skin disease is an economically important poxvirus disease of cattle. Vaccination is the main method of control but sporadic outbreaks have been reported in Turkey. This study was carried out to determine the changes in serum biochemical values of cattle naturally infected with lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV). For this study, blood samples in EDTA, serum samples, and nodular skin lesions ...

Lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV), a member of the capripoxvirus genus of the Poxviridae, is the etiologic agent of an important disease of cattle in Africa. Here we report the genomic sequence of LSDV. The 151-kbp LSDV genome consists of a central coding region bounded by identical 2.4 kbp-inverted terminal repeats and contains 156 putative genes. Comparison of LSDV with chordopoxviruses of othe...

Lumpy skin disease (LSD) is a generalized skin disease which is an infectious, eruptive, occasionally fatal disease of cattle caused by a virus associated with the Neethling poxvirus in the genus Capri poxvirus of the family Poxviridae. LSD was first described in Zambia and occurs in other most African countries and sporadically in the Middle East region. Mechanical vector insects might play a ...

This technique has also been used extensively in studies on the structure of pox viruses. Horne & Wildy (1963) have reviewed the results obtained by various investigators working with this group of viruses. The more recently published findings of Buttner, Giese, Muller & Peters (1964) and Peters, Muller & Buttner (1964) suggest that the viruses of the pox group can be divided into the following...
متن کاملClinical, hematologic, and biochemical findings in cattle infected with lumpy skin disease during an outbreak in southwest Iran
This study was performed to determine the clinical, hematologic, and biochemical findings in animals affected with lumpy skin disease (LSD) in southwest Iran. Sixty cattle with LSD were included in this study and compared with 20 healthy ones as the control group. The disease was diagnosed based on clinical examination and confirmed by polymerase chain reaction analysis of the blood samples. Th...
