چکیده
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), due to their mutagenic, carcinogenic, and teratogenic potential, can lead numerous chronic fatal diseases. PAHs have been found in several wastewater streams, including “produced water,” which is generated during the extraction of oil gas. The PAHs’ removal from produced water using physical, chemical, biological, combined methods crucial. Water a vital ecosystem component extremely vulnerable PAHs. This article reviews current PAH situation, physical chemical properties, types, characteristics, water. mechanism each method has discussed. study results show that adsorption by nanoparticles integrated are promising meet strict authoritarian limit with advanced increase potential direction commercialization for provide opportunities use as source help policy/decision makers efficient management resources.

Removal Capacities of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) by a Newly Isolated Strain from Oilfield Produced Water
The polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH)-degrading strain Q8 was isolated from oilfield produced water. According to the analysis of a biochemical test, 16S rRNA gene, house-keeping genes and DNA-DNA hybridization, strain Q8 was assigned to a novel species of the genus Gordonia. The strain could not only grow in mineral salt medium (MM) and utilize naphthalene and pyrene as its sole carbon sou...
متن کاملPoly-cyclodextrin cryogels with aligned porous structure for removal of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from water.
Cyclodextrins (CDs) are sugar-based cyclic oligosaccharides, which form inclusion complexes with small guest molecules through their hydrophobic cavity. Here we successfully synthesized highly porous poly-cyclodextrin (poly-CD) cryogels, which were produced under cryogenic conditions by the cross-linking of amine-functional CDs with PEG-based diepoxide cross-linker. The poly-CD cryogels showed ...
متن کاملInvestigating the Presence of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Doogh
Background and purpose: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are one of the most common environmental pollutants that are proven to be carcinogenic and mutagenic. Doogh, is a widely consumed fermented yoghurt drink in Iran. The aim of this study was to determine the presence and concentration of PAHs in different brands of Doogh in Tehran, Iran. Materials and methods: In this study, we synt...
متن کاملBiodegradation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Petroleum Contaminated Soils
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are a class of potentially hazardous chemicals of environmental and health concern. PAHs are one of the most prevalent groups of contaminants found in soil. Biodegradation of complex hydrocarbon usually requires the cooperation of more than single specie. In this research biotreatment of PAH (phenanthrene) was studied in a solid-phase reactor using indigenou...
متن کاملTransport of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in a Calcareous Wetland Soil
Knowledge of transport and degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is important in assessing PAH contamination of soils and water resources. The transport of naphthalene, anthracene, pyrene and phenanthrene was determined in a contaminated calcareous soil obtained from the Shadegan wetland (Khozestan, Iran) considering a column study in laboratory conditions. The PAHs were added ...
