Revealing Precipitate Development During Hot Rolling and Cooling of a Ti–Nb Micro‐Alloyed High Strength Low‐Alloy Steel through X‐Ray Scattering

چکیده
High‐energy synchrotron X‐ray small‐angle scattering (SAXS) is used to study the precipitate development during hot rolling and cooling of a commercial Ti–Nb micro‐alloyed, high‐strength, low‐alloy (HSLA) steel. To precipitation conditions, Gleeble dilatometer trials are made. Samples then studied at room temperature using SAXS in conjunction with transmission electron microscopy (TEM). TEM determine morphology composition precipitates, whilst both particle sizes. One major advantage high‐energy ability make measurements after minimum sample preparation geometry, as opposed just prepared surfaces, plus possibility volume fractions precipitates. The show that deformation high temperature, coarsening occurs fraction precipitates increases holding for 20 s 900 °C which confirms strain‐induced finishing conditions. 600 or 650 one hour gives larger nanosized particles. Coiling simulations slow from 470 particles an increase smaller compared constant temperature.

Metallurgically Consistent Determination of Steel Hot Strength Using Process Data from Hot Strip Mill Rolling
It is not rare to observe an inverse relationship between hot strength determined from rolling load of the finishing stands of the hot strip mill and strain. This situation was already described in the literature and is explained by the use of inverse rolling load models that assumes sticking friction in the determination of hot strength. The aim of this work was to show that this “work softeni...
متن کاملThe Effects of Finish Rolling Temperature and Cooling Interrupt Conditions on Precipitation in Microalloyed Steels Using Small Angle Neutron Scattering
Small angle neutron scattering (SANS) was used to quantify the precipitate characteristics (i.e., mean precipitate size, number of precipitates, and distribution broadening) in X-70 and X-80 pipeline steel and in grades 80 and 100 microalloyed steel plate. The precipitate distributions measured for the different steels were correlated with the finish rolling temperature (FRT) and cooling interr...
متن کاملOptimal Temperature Tracking for Accelerated Cooling Processes in Hot Rolling of Steel
This paper is concerned with the development of a control system for tracking of a desired temperaturetime profile for accelerated cooling processes in hot rolling of steel. Control of temperature during cooling is essential for achieving desired mechanical and metallurgical properties of steel. The cooling process is represented by the heat equation in Lagrangian coordinates which is approxima...
