چکیده

BackgroundRetroaortic innominate vein (RAIV) is an extremely rare anomaly of systemic venous return. The prevalence RAIV has been estimated to be 0.02% in individuals without congenital heart disease and 0.5% those with disease. Previous studies have demonstrated association between both conotruncal abnormalities right aortic arch. Our center specializes surgical procedures for patients pulmonary atresia ventricular septal defect major aortopulmonary collateral arteries (PA/VSD/MAPCAs), we frequently observed the presence these patients. purpose this study was evaluate anatomic characteristics RAIV.MethodsThis a single-center retrospective review medical records identify RAIV. period 2002 through 2022, approximately 20,000 evaluated during time frame.ResultsA total 99 were identified Of patients, 64 (65%) had PA/VSD/MAPCAs. Other diagnoses included tetralogy Fallot (n = 16), 3), double outlet ventricle 4), peripheral artery stenosis other 9). In cohort PA/VSD/MAPCAs, 69% arch 30% completely absent central arteries.ConclusionsThe overwhelming majority (90%) abnormalities, PA/VSD/MAPCAs accounting preponderance cases our center.

Pulmonary Atresia with Ventricular Septal Defect and Major Aortopulmonary Collaterals Associated with Left Pulmonary Artery Interruption

A multistage plan and multidisciplinary approach are the keys to successful repair in patients with pulmonary atresia (PA) with ventricular septal defect (VSD) and major aortopulmonary collateral arteries (MAPCAs). In this article, we present a multidisciplinary approach adopted to treat a patient with PA with VSD and MAPCAs associated with left pulmonary artery interruption.

Echocardiographic predictors of aortopulmonary collaterals in infants with tetralogy of fallot and pulmonary atresia.

OBJECTIVES This study was designed to identify echocardiographic predictors of aortopulmonary collaterals (APCs) in infants with tetralogy of Fallot and pulmonary atresia (TOF/PA) and to prospectively validate these predictors. BACKGROUND In patients with TOF/PA, routine preoperative diagnostic cardiac catheterization is usually performed to determine the presence and distribution of APCs and...

Surgical reconstruction of pulmonary stenosis with ventricular septal defect and major aortopulmonary collaterals.

BACKGROUND Pulmonary stenosis with ventricular septal defect and major aortopulmonary collaterals (PS/VSD/MAPCAs) is an extremely rare form of congenital heart defect. Although it has been assumed that PS/VSD/MAPCAs would be similar to pulmonary atresia (PA) with VSD/MAPCA, there are currently no data to support this conjecture. This study reviewed our surgical experience with reconstruction of...

Surgical outcomes for patients with pulmonary atresia/major aortopulmonary collaterals and Alagille syndrome.

OBJECTIVES Pulmonary atresia with major aortopulmonary collateral arteries (PA/MAPCAs) is a complex congenital heart defect that has undergone significant advances in treatment over the past 15 years. A small subset of patients with PA/MAPCAs have associated Alagille syndrome, which can have an adverse impact on many other organ systems. The purpose of this study was to review our institutional...
