چکیده
Patients with schizophrenia have altered visual cognition and retinal functions. No studies explored if anomalies are related to the presence of hallucinations (VH). We functional responses ganglion cells in patients or without VH conducted a neuropsychological evaluation explore links between function. The VH+ group showed poorer we found correlations amplitudes P50 N95 waves cognition. Our results provide arguments for link dysfunction, impaired processing schizophrenia.

Visual field defects and retinal ganglion cell losses in patients with glaucoma.
OBJECTIVE To determine whether the structure-function relationships for glaucoma in humans and experimental glaucoma in monkeys are similar. METHODS The study was based on retinal ganglion cell density and visual thresholds in patients with documented glaucoma. Data were analyzed with a model that predicted ganglion cell density from standard clinical perimetry, which was then compared with h...

AIMS To identify the pattern of cerebral hypometabolism in patients with dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and visual hallucinations (VH). METHODS Fourteen patients with DLB and VH, 7 with DLB without VH and 16 healthy controls underwent clinical and (18)F-FDG PET evaluations. The 2 patient groups did not significantly differ in their clinical characteristics, except in the occurrence of VH. A ...

BACKGROUND Charles Bonnet syndrome is characterized by complex, formed visual hallucinations that occur in patients without psychiatric disorders. To the best of our knowledge, it has not been described following central retinal artery occlusion. OBJECTIVE To describe 2 patients who experienced formed visual hallucinations characteristic of Charles Bonnet syndrome after sudden, severe visual ...

The visual hallucinations experienced by a 26-year-old woman under the influence of hallucinogens and during schizophrenia are described. Three types of hallucinations are delineated: (1) superimposed hallucinations, (2) spatial and depth distortions, and (3) animations. These three types of hallucinations appear to represent consecutive gradations on a continuum of the ego function of reality ...
