RETENTION IN MAXILLOFACIAL PROSTHESIS: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Defects in the maxillofacial region can be congenital or acquired, and may negatively affect their physical psychological health, hence such defects requires rehabilitation to improve quality of life. Maxillofacial prosthesis helps substituting these missing body part. The mode retention are always challenging. Apart from various modes available, a thorough treatment planning give better prostheses. type retentive given depends on several factors as shape size defect, systemic conditions age patient. Using ideal aids along with aesthetic, functional economic achieving successful outcome.
