چکیده

Essential oils (EO), which can be extracted from different edible, therapeutic and herbal plants, have been well known as natural antimicrobial additives. However, it is usually hard to attain high efficacy of these EOs, when are used in combinations for the control foodborne microbes, because their low solubility water interactive binding. Here, we report an optimized oil-in-water (o/w) nanoemulsification process citral carvone generated mean droplet size 11–19 nm. It was found that nature surfactant viz., Brij-58 vs leaf extract Lantana camara (LC) plays crucial role determining overall stability droplets. The screened nanoemulsions (NEs), stored long duration, showed minimal decrease oil content with retention antioxidant activity. prepared NEs documented enhanced antibacterial activity compared pure whereas higher degree killing observed towards Pseudomonas aeruginosa. also both bacteria on wound dressing cotton gauze bandages (GB). outcome present study may development safe biocompatible agents.

In Vitro Antibacterial and Antibiofilm Activity of Lippia alba Essential Oil, Citral, and Carvone against Staphylococcus aureus

In vitro antimicrobial and antibiofilm activities of the Lippia alba essential oil and its major components (citral and carvone) against Staphylococcus aureus were investigated. Essential oils (LA1EO, LA2EO, and LA3EO) were extracted from the aerial parts of three L. alba specimens by hydrodistillation and analyzed by gas chromatography coupled to a mass spectrometer. Minimum Inhibitory Concent...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
