چکیده

Purpose: To investigate the mechanism of resveratrol protection against sepsis-induced acute kidney injury in mice.
Methods: A model was established mice by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP). Sixty healthy male ICR were randomly divided into sham operation (sham) group, (CLP) CLP + low-dose (20 mg/kg) treatment (CLP ResL) high-dose (40 ResH) group Klotho (0.01 Klotho) group. All administered on day after surgery once every 24 h for 3 days. Various serum biochemical parameters protein expressions evaluated.
Results: After CLP, levels creatinine (Scr) blood urea nitrogen (BUN) increased pathology exacerbated. The mRNA expression Bcl-2 decreased, while those Bax Caspase-3 (p < 0.05). intervention, Scr BUN recovered, pathological changes alleviated. increased, decreased. conditions ResH improved more significantly than ResL 0.05).
Conclusion: Resveratrol upregulates endogenous to exert its antiapoptotic effects, which can protect kidneys injury. Thus, compound has potentials development

Ghrelin protects mice against endotoxemia-induced acute kidney injury.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) in septic patients drastically increases the mortality to 50-80%. Sepsis is characterized by hemodynamic perturbations as well as overwhelming induction of proinflammatory cytokines. Since ghrelin has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, we hypothesized that ghrelin may afford renal protection during endotoxemia-induced AKI. Studies were conducted in a norm...

Baicalin Inhibits Renal Cell Apoptosis and Protects Against Acute Kidney Injury in Pediatric Sepsis

BACKGROUND Pediatric sepsis has high morbidity in children, may lead to acute kidney injury (AKI), and further aggravate the disease. Baicalin is a kind of flavonoid in Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and has been reported to protect against several diseases, but its roles in septic AKI remain unclear. This study aimed to uncover the effects of baicalin in AKI during pediatric sepsis. MATERIAL A...

Resveratrol protects against early polymicrobial sepsis-induced acute kidney injury through inhibiting endoplasmic reticulum stress-activated NF-κB pathway

Resveratrol, a polyphenol compound derived from various edible plants, protects against sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) via its anti-inflammatory activity, but the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown. In this study, a rat model of sepsis was established by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP), 30 mg/kg resveratrol was intraperitoneally administrated immediately after the CLP oper...

Vorinostat protects against calcium oxalate-induced kidney injury in mice.

The present study aimed to examine the effect of the histone deacetylase inhibitor, vorinostat (SAHA), on renal function in a calcium oxalate crystal mouse model, and to investigate the mechanism underlying the renoprotective effect of SAHA. Calcium oxalate crystal formation was induced in 8 week‑old male C57BL/6 mice by administering 100 mg/kg glyoxylate for 7 days. A total of 24 male C57BL/6 ...

ATF3-mediated epigenetic regulation protects against acute kidney injury.

A variety of stress stimuli, including ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury, induce the transcriptional repressor ATF3 in the kidney. The functional consequences of this upregulation in ATF3 after renal I/R injury are not well understood. Here, we found that ATF3-deficient mice had higher renal I/R-induced mortality, kidney dysfunction, inflammation (number of infiltrating neutrophils, myeloperoxi...
