Results of the EURADOS international comparison exercise on neutron spectra unfolding in Bonner spheres spectrometry

This paper summarizes the results obtained from an international comparison exercise on neutron spectra unfolding in Bonner spheres spectrometry, organized within activities of EURADOS working group 6: computational dosimetry. Four realistic situations were considered: a medical accelerator, workplace field, irradiation room and skyshine scenario. The reference solutions are presented, given terms idealized fluence-energy distributions dose rates, along with details their derivation using verified Monte Carlo codes. wide variety unfolded that submitted by participants then provided, some shown to agree well but others showing significant energy-dependent discrepancies. Finally, explanations for these discrepancies proposed, suggested methods how they might be improved.
